Pasco Innovative eXperiences & e-Learning (PIXeL)

PIXeL is a remote learning program with parent-coached instruction, approved for students in grades 3-8 throughout the state of Washington. The program is 80% synchronous, meaning teachers and students engage with course content together in real time, and 20% asynchronous, meaning teachers and students engage with content at different times.

PIXeL Out Of District Guidelines

  1. Within ESD 123 we can provide a laptop to the family/meet to pick up 
  2. Students outside ESD 123 will have laptops mailed to them 
  3. Families will need to provide their own wifi 
  4. Students are required to take district and state assessment
  5. Students can either pick up or be mailed curriculum materials 
  6. Students can participate in virtual or in person activities at the building 
  7. Students can participate in virtual specials which include PE/Health and Fitness, Robotics and Music
  8. Our district helpdesk can support PSD laptops
  9. IEP's/504’s will need to be reviewed before enrollment to ensure that support is possible on our virtual platform. IEP teams will evaluate feasibility of support prior to enrollment
  10. All students will have to have a Choice Transfer Request filled out with their home district prior to enrollment
  11. All students enrolled in PIXeL will fall under the student code of conduct and discipline procedures for PSD  

A Virtual Learning World

Comprehensive Curriculum

PIXeL Curriculum is the same curriculum used in the brick and mortar schools for K-8. Students receive their hands on materials to participate from home Math books, ELA materials, hands on science materials, hands on PE materials, etc make the program come to life from home with support from certificated teachers!

Learning with Teachers

In the virtual world of PIXeL Academy, students are never alone. Our experienced and dedicated teachers are there to guide and support them every step of the way. Through real-time interactions, students can ask questions, seek clarification, and participate in discussions, just as they would in a traditional classroom.

The Benefits of PIXeL Academy

Flexibility

PIXeL Academy offers students the flexibility of learning from home.  Students are instructed by teachers for 80% of their day via Zoom and provided Office Hours for specific questions and needs.  Students are also enrolled in Music, PE and Robotics as part of their day.   

Immersive Learning

Our online platform is not just a substitute for in-person learning; it's an immersive experience that utilizes multimedia and interactive tools to bring the curriculum to life. Learning becomes engaging, inspiring, and unforgettable.

Community and Collaboration

While students access their education from the comfort of their own homes, PIXeL Academy fosters a strong sense of community. Students collaborate, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships with their peers and teachers.

We collaborate closely with families and students in PIXeL, so we ask all families to review our PIXeL agreement. The agreement will be signed as a part of the enrollment process.
